We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented **Mid-Level Python Developer** to join our team and support the ongoing development and maintenance of our METL team.

This role involves working on a robust data integration platform that leverages Python, MongoDB, and AWS, with a focus on ETL processes, API development, and backend services.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services and ETL pipelines using Python.

Work with MongoDB for data storage, retrieval, and manipulation, including writing efficient queries and managing collections.

Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with external systems.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing codebase.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.

Support deployment and CI/CD processes using tools like Jenkins and AWS SAM.

Document technical solutions and contribute to project documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in Python development.
  • Solid understanding of OOP and Python best practices.
  • Experience with MongoDB (PyMongo), including CRUD operations and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API development (Flask, FastAPI, or similar frameworks).
  • Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
  • Ability to write and maintain unit tests (unittest, pytest, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with data integration, ETL, or data pipeline projects.
  • Familiarity with AWS Lambda, SAM, and serverless architectures.
  • Knowledge of working with JSON, XML, and data validation.
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and debugging distributed systems.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
