How will you make an impact in this role?

Offers & Benefits are a critical part of AXP Value proposition to Cardmembers and the process in Controllership manages the overall accounting for Amex Offers & Benefits e.g. Statement Credits. The primary purpose of this role is to manage automation & platform migrations related to Amex Offers & Benefits and to ensure successful implementation and stabilization post implementation.  


Role will require a strong focus on project management, collaboration across Technology, GFII and other stakeholder teams, understanding existing processes and enhancing quality & governance across end- to- end processes managed in Statement Credit COE team. Good understanding of Amex Offers & Benefits, existing Platforms for Merchant Receivables, Fulfillment engines, Oracle General Ledger, IRIS, FBPM will be an advantage. 


Responsibilities: -

  • The incumbent will ensure that integrity, control and optimal functionality is maintained to ensure consistent delivery of project and processes and associated cost/quality/ control metrics.  
  • The incumbent shall ensure compliance with all prevalent policies and procedures linked to the area and processes assigned to him / her
  • Independently research and provide solutions and support for resolution of issues and queries
  • The incumbent must be able to work with, communicate and influence all levels of management and be self-driven with minimal supervision.
  • Deliver high quality and accurate milestone reporting with adherence to critical deadlines.
  • Contribute toward process improvements through ongoing review of processes / opportunities for automation, enhanced reporting
Past Experience: - Key AXP Projects, Accounting, Reconciliations, Reporting, Oracle and other AXP Technology Platforms, MS office Academic 


Required Qualifications: Academic-
The incumbent should be a qualified accountant (CA, CMA) or MBA with at least 3+ years of post-qualification experience or 6 to 10 years of post-qualification experience with B Com/ M Com / CA Intermediate.


Required Qualifications: Additional:
  • Strong accounting (US GAAP / IFRS) & reconciliation knowledge, policy awareness & control mindset.
  • Strong project management experience / knowledge
  • Excellent communication, relationship management & collaboration skills while working with various stakeholders across Controllership, Business Finance, GFII and other Technology teams
  • Good understanding / aptitude for Technology architecture and Data flows in Accounting, Reconciliation, Automation, Reporting e.g. R42, BEQ, RC, FBPM.
  • Incumbent needs to be flexible and able to perform responsibilities at different times of the day given multiple teams engaged at given geographical coverage.

  • Self-starter with excellent verbal & written communication, presentation skills.
  •  Ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvements.

  • Quick learner, an eye for detail and ability to work during ambiguity.
