Vale of Leven theatre unit containing 3 operating theatres, a minor operating room and a 8 bed recovery area and provide care for patients undergoing a range of surgical specialties currently including Orthopaedics,Gynaecology,Urology,Ophthalmology and General Surgery. In addition to having current NMC/HCPC registration applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn. The successful applicants will be required to demonstrate extensive knowledge in perioperative practice including evidence of continuing professional development, and willing to extend their knowledge and skills in this area. As a band 6 you will be expected to take charge of the unit in the absence of the SCN. The department offers team support and continuing education opportunities, supported by the perioperative education team.

The successful candidates are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service, which runs currently over a 5 day week. Furthermore, the successful candidates will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
