Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience with ML design, ML architecture, and ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
- Experience with Generative AI and AI Algorithms.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a specific ML domain relevant to the teams work, such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI and Graph Neural Networks (GNNs).
- Experience with MLOps practices, including model monitoring, versioning and CI/CD pipelines for ML
- Experience in translating high-level business goals into concrete technical deliverables and long-term technical strategies.

As a Technical Lead Manager for the Contributor Trust Modeling team in Geo, you will drive improvements to Google Maps information quality by leveraging ML to identify user intent and distinguish trustworthy from abusive behavior. You will mentor engineers, guide ML system development and deployment, and set the teams technical direction in collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance experiences for Google Maps users and local merchants.The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.
The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional partners teams to evolve strategy while guiding the team to enhance solution quality.
- Drive development to improve understanding of contributors’ intent, reliability, skills, and expertise, creating a positive user experience.
- Contribute through machine learning systems and cross-functional partnerships.
- Work on projects across technical domains including ML modeling, feature engineering, quality experimentation, data pipelines, low-latency infrastructure and production stability.
- Collaborate with teams and cross-functional partners across Maps and Google.
