Sustainability & CSR Head, India

Reports To: Business Line Head

Location: Pune/ Bangalore

  • Purpose of Position: The role will be Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Sustainability framework & Strategy for the organization (70%) and manage the corporate social responsibility (30%) initiatives across India.

Key responsibilities:

  • Defining sustainability strategy for the company, and facilitation for SKF’s full Value chain for Policy, procedure, Operational requirements, and communication.
  • Reporting as per mandatory / Non-mandatory requirements of sustainability reporting such as BRSR (Business Responsibility & Sustainability report), IR(integrated reporting),GRI reporting.
  • To develop and implement the SKF’s Environment & Sustainability Standards in line with the international best practices and to manage the SKF’s environmental impacts to maximize resources & energy efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Understanding the risks and opportunities arising from climate change and incorporating them in Enterprise-wide risk management exercise
  • Carbon foot printing assessment and carbon neutrality strategies, climate change mitigation strategies, and Product Life cycle assessment.
  • Monitoring and improving the sustainability performance of the company for various Sustainability parameters.
  • Executing & Facilitation for sustainability / BRSR-related Projects in the value chain for issues such as energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste elimination, transportation, education, Human rights and building design.
  • Communication and training on sustainability issues like climate change, Human rights, product life cycles assessment, Policy advocacy,
  • Liaise with various external agencies such as stakeholder groups including employees, consumers, business partners and suppliers and NGO, Govt bodies and trade associations.
  • Providing various input to teams for Customer compliance for sustainability data such as ESG compliance, resource efficiency, GHG Emission.
  • Lead CSR projects from concept to execution, including budgeting and impact assessment
  • Coordinate employee volunteering programs and engagement campaigns

  • Profile of the jobholder:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Business, or related fields
  • 10+ years of experience in CSR, ESG, or sustainability roles
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks and reporting standards
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Passion for social impact and environmental stewardship
