Key job responsibilities

This role is within the ISV team in Amazon Web Services India (AWS India) and can be based out of Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad locations.

As a Solutions Architect, you’ll help your customers plan their successful cloud journey leveraging emerging technologies like GenAI to achieve business outcomes. You’ll solve complex, technical challenges so your customers can focus on their business. This includes using your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures. You’ll drive or take part in technical solutions discussions, diving deep into the details with customer teams.

Building relationships to understand our customers and partners is key. As a trusted technical advisor, you’ll use your interpersonal skills to influence a variety of stakeholders from technical teams to executives. You’ll help ensure their short-term technology decisions are aligned with their long-term goals. Speeding up the adoption of our services will be part of your day to day.

You’ll also act as thought leader in the wider community. This includes taking part in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops. You won’t just be part of an industry movement; you’ll be leading it.

As a customer obsessed advisor, you’ll also have the chance to shape the direction of our products and services. This is through gathering feedback from customers whilst collaborating with our engineering and service teams.

To be successful in this role you need to be passionate about ISV and cloud architectures. You are a builder with genuine curiosity about how technology can support your customers’ business models and objectives.

A day in the life

The Solutions Architect team at AWS is responsible for helping customers successfully implement cloud technologies. In a typical week you will meet multiple customers, and you will collaborate with them on designing and operating well-architected solutions. You will earn their trust and show them the art of the possible, educating them around the capabilities of AWS. Partnering with internal teams and experts, leveraging a deep knowledge of our tools and products, you’ll craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address our customers’ business problems. As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to continuously learn and innovate daily.

About The Team

ISV Solutions Architects work hand in hand with AWS customers to help drive AWS services adoption. They are at the crossroads of business and technology and engage with customers of different stages. Supporting the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS, they work to understand the customers business needs and give prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with technology. Solutions Architects also have broader impact at scale, taking a supporting role in creating and presenting technical content and best practices.

You will be part of a team that is responsible for driving adoption of AWS technologies while bringing differentiated value to customers. This is a team dedicated to ISV customers, an important and growing subset of customers for AWS India. ISV customers follow unique technology adoption patterns and growth trajectories that distinguish them from traditional businesses, so you will be employing engagement strategies and programs tailored to their business needs and technical preferences.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree
• Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
• Background in any other following or related to Technology Architect, Consultant, Cloud Architect, Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, Systems Engineer etc.
• Experience and/or deeper understanding in one or more technology areas. Specific knowledge in multiple technology domain areas (e.g., software development/architecture, systems engineering, infrastructure, containers, databases, security, networking, data & analytics, AI/ML, GenAI).
• Have worked on design, development, implementation, or consulting applications / platforms in their prior experience
• Can create proof of concepts, demos, and/or scripts from scratch or leveraging reusable components.
• Understands and can articulate common architectural patterns and design principles.
• Able to create technical content that is easily adopted and reusable by others.
• Fluent communication skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of AWS services
• Experience architecting, migrating or transforming customer requirements to the cloud
• Professional experience architecting / operating solutions built on AWS or other cloud technology
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions and/or applications to the cloud
• One or more AWS certifications, e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Professional
• Able to present to technical and business audiences (training, workshops, publications)
• 4 years’ experience as a Solution Architect or related role.
