We are looking for customer obsessed, Sr Vendor Manager to join the India Amazon Wholesale India Pvt. Ltd (AWIPL) team to launch and scale and imports/exports. In this role you will serve as the end-to-end business owner of launching brands ans scaling them in India and overseas. Your will have to work across a broad stakeholder group to deliver results. You will deliver business innovations which wll drive speed to market and create strategies to scale in india.

The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities and demonstrate the ability to influence without authority.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets
  • Lead negotiations with national distributors on commercial terms, pricing, and programs
  • Drive operational improvements across the distribution network to enhance efficiency
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities
  • Manage P&L responsibility for assigned distribution categories/regions
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key distribution partners
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and strategic initiatives
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to track distributor performance and business health

A day in the life

will include regular interactions with Internal Stakeholders like: Business Teams: Regular coordination with Category Management, Retail, and Private Labels and external stakeholder like National Distributors, Regional Distribution, Partners, Manufacturers/Brands and Logistics Partners. Additional activities include

  • Review daily business metrics and distributor performance dashboards
  • Address urgent operational issues or escalations
  • Check inventory positions and stock movement
  • Team huddle to align on days priorities
  • Vendor/distributor meetings and negotiations
  • Cross-functional team meetings for ongoing projects
  • Review and approve commercial terms
  • Analysis of sales data and market trends
  • Strategic planning sessions
  • Performance review meetings with distributors
  • Process improvement discussions
  • Team management and development activities

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in wholesale distribution, vendor management, or related areas
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Strong track record of negotiating complex commercial agreements
  • Demonstrated experience in P&L management
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong project management capabilitie

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
  • MBA from a top-tier institution
  • 10+ years of experience in e-commerce or retail distribution
  • Experience working with national FMCG distributors in India
  • Prior experience in Amazon or other major e-commerce companies
  • Proven track record of implementing large-scale business transformation projects
  • Strong understanding of supply chain operations and logistics
  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel skills
  • Six Sigma certification or similar process improvement credentials
