Primary Responsibilities
Enable broader adoption of EAA products, accelerate cloud migration, and ensure strategic alignment across business and technology
Define and drive the enterprise-wide strategy for analytics and automation, aligning with business goals and technology roadmaps
Architect and design solutions to enable business and EAA priorities
Work closely with the EAA portfolio leads and OptumAI and UAIS to deliver the ML, RPA solutions and EAA product-based solutions (WalkMe, UIPath, Snowboard, Contract Central)
Enable and support UAIS platform with ML Ops capabilities for the enterprise
Identify and nurture the product scalability and commercialization ideas
Work with UHC and Optum business to identify transformation and disconnection debt opportunities using automated task mining capabilities
Influence the creation of innovative AI strategy and solutions
Work collaboratively with Optum AI, CDO teams on expanding AI capabilities
Manage the financial budget for EAA in alignment with business strategy
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and mission alignment. Attract, develop, and retain top talent while building high-performing, diverse teams
The role will:
Generate $50+M in benefits from EAA products (WalkMe, UIPath, Snowboard, Contract Central)
Drive $50+M task mining opportunity identification & get $20+M opportunities added to product backlog
Manage a growing team of ~300 FTEs (start with ~60 FTEs and expanding to 300+ over time)
Ensure 95+% Security MBO, drive cloud migration of ~300 EAA apps over next 3 years and drive performance management for EAA
Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise technology, analytics, or automation, with at least 5 years in the healthcare industry
Proven experience managing large-scale AI/ML product life cycle, leading MLOps, RPA Ops, and Cloud Migration
Experience in digital transformation initiatives in payer, provider, or healthcare services organizations
Experience working with population health, care management, revenue cycle, or value-based care analytics
Experience in building and leading high-performing, diverse teams across geographies
Experience managing a P&L and delivering against financial objectives, including revenue growth and investment optimization
Experience in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and agile delivery
Healthcare Domain Expertise
Deep understanding of healthcare data ecosystems, including EHRs, claims, clinical data, and interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)
Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH)
Technical & Strategic Expertise
Solid grasp of AI/ML technologies, intelligent automation (RPA, IPA), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
Demonstrated ability to translate healthcare business needs into scalable, high-impact technology solutions
Leadership & Influence
Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with C-level stakeholders
Solid change management skills with a track record of driving cultural and operational transformation
Financial & Operational Acumen
Skilled in portfolio management, performance tracking, and ROI analysis using data-driven decision-making
Innovation & Industry Awareness
Passion for innovation with a solid pulse on emerging healthcare technologies and industry trends
