At Cúram by Merative, we’re transforming how health and human services are delivered - helping caseworkers spend less time on systems and more time supporting people. For over 25 years, our platform has been trusted by global organizations to connect individuals with the services they need to lead healthier, more secure lives. Behind it all is a collaborative, mission-driven team of technologists, designers, product experts, and service pros - people who care deeply about what they build, the adults and children they support, protect and assist - why what we do matters to society.

Cúram is named after a Gaelic word that means “care and protection.” We embraced this name as a reminder of what’s at the core of all we do: putting people at the center of health and social care. It speaks to the passion our teams and our clients bring to the communities they serve.

Cúram is part of Merative, a worldwide leader in healthcare technology. Merative’s other key products include medical imaging solutions, clinical decision support for drug information, clinical trial data management solutions, real-world data, and healthcare analytics. All high tech, well-known, proprietary, cutting-edge solutions, focused on caring for humanity.

Ready to shake up social services with smart tech and real impact?

Cúram is hunting for an experienced Principal Consultant who is passionate about making a difference - and having a little fun along the way. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the world’s most influential organizations, helping them solve complex problems and level up their operations by modernizing their technology to better support society’s most vulnerable. Your deep expertise and sharp insights will drive smarter solutions that actually matter - improving lives and ROI. From big-picture strategy to nitty-gritty delivery, you’ll play a key role in making sure technology implementations go smoothly and make a lasting difference in people’s daily lives. If you love tech, thrive on solving real-world challenges, and want to be part of a growing team that’s passionate, driven, and just a bit nerdy (in the best way) - we want to hear from you.

How you will contribute:

  • As a Principal Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Cúram software platform, which is widely used in social services, healthcare, and other government programs.
  • This senior-level position is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in social services, healthcare, and technology.
  • To be successful in this role you need to be passionate about technology and have proven skills in Java technologies and possibly the JEE enterprise architecture.

What you will bring:

  • Lead technical aspects of Medium to Large scale implementations.
  • Work as part of a multi supplier team, with systems integration partners and/or customer staff to define components of an enterprise architecture based on the SPM product, and to ensure that Merative’s interests are represented in this architecture at all times.
  • To assist in the definition of a development and deployment approach to be used to realize this architecture.
  • Act as a technical reference for Cúram related design, development, testing and deployment knowledge.
  • Translate technical concepts between software engineering, delivery management and service management so they are understood by all.
  • Work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into technical designs.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees, partners and customers, and to promote Merative’s technical credibility as a capable and trusted partner.
  • To take a leadership and mentoring role when working with less experienced Merative staff.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to other technical consultants.
  • Design, develop, code and test Cúram extensions in a JEE environment.
  • Learn and grow your skills related to Cúram implementations including mobile application development, reporting and analytics, cloud, data migration, web services and application security.
  • Experience and capability to lead large workshops. Produce and review business requirements documentation.
  • Key knowledge of multiple complex areas of Cúram development, for examples rules, financials, workflow, etc. Enforces standards at the individual team level and shares best practice across all teams.

What we would love to see:

  • A minimum of 4 years’ hands-on involvement in designing and developing Cúram-based solutions
  • Proven track record as a senior technical consultant within IT consulting firms or in direct collaboration with client stakeholders
  • Skilled in Java/JEE/XML and developing web services using both REST and SOAP architectures
  • Well-versed in applying design patterns and architectural design methodologies
  • Strong background working within agile development environments
  • Deep understanding of JEE performance tuning, scalability, and application-level security
  • Effective communicator with solid written skills and confident presentation delivery
  • Proficient in working with relational databases such as DB2 or Oracle, including SQL
  • Familiar with enterprise application servers like WebSphere or WebLogic
  • Knowledge on JavaScript technologies such as ReactJS and DevOps technologies such as CI/CD, Jenkins, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science from a reputed university / college. MS is preferable
