The Azure & Compute Operations Manager will be responsible for the management and support of Azure Cloud and Compute technologies within the organization, with experience in operating and leading a team which supports enterprise solutions built around the Microsoft technology stack
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, document and maintain effective system configurations for Cloud services
Management and implementation of system deployments and upgrades
Working with team members and members of the Client architecture team to analyze system architecture and configurations and highlight potential improvements
Work with the Client to review, develop, plan, and implement strategies to provide a continuous program of systems improvement
Monitor support incidents and work with support staff to provide effective prioritization and resolution.
Lead the team to achieve and/or exceed Service Levels
Own and manage complex issues and see through to completion
Implement changes using the appropriate change-control process across the IT infrastructure
Ensure technologies are deployed in compliance with Client security framework(s) and standards and monitor the roadmap for these technologies, enabling the business to leverage improvements and new features quickly and efficiently
Build strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers, application support teams, and the business.
Prepare and maintain procedure documentation relating to the overall environment
Be a creative thinker and look for new ways the business to leverage Cloud and Compute technologies to improve efficiencies and capabilities.
Ongoing professional development including the attaining of professional qualifications
Knowledge/Skills Requirements
At least 7 years of experience within an IT environment, with a focus on Cloud technologies.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving service-impacting issues
Excellent understanding of Azure with a strong working knowledge of services including PaaS SQL, App Services, IaaS, Azure networking, Azure Monitor, Logic Apps, API Management Application Gateway, Container Management, AKS, Azure Recovery Services and Azure Functions
Good understanding of network concepts such as TCP/IP, LAN, WAN and VPN
Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using Azure services, ARM Templates, and Terraform.
Good knowledge of Azure DevOps to maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment and integration.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at the appropriate level of detail and technical content for the target audience
Excellent attention to detail.
A proactive approach to systems management.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload
Experience working within a multi cloud setup (e.g. AWS/Google) would be advantageous
Strong shell scripting (PowerShell, SQL, VB…)
Work with third-party vendors / professional services and in-house developers as necessary
Compose and compile thorough documentation to enable ongoing administration and support of their respective systems and applications.
Strong ITIL process knowledge
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
