Description

Responsible for managing the overall development, design and delivery of Geographic Information System (GIS) services to support utility industry clients. Involves integrating strategic thinking, technical expertise and effective collaboration to drive GIS initiatives across various client functions including GIS applications, data conversions and system integrations.

Primary Skills

Essential Qualifications:

  • Skilled in applying strategic and creative thinking to identify long-term opportunities and trends
  • Proficient at engaging productively when faced with ambiguous requirements
  • Capable of managing diverse perspectives, fostering consensus, and achieving favorable results
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members in requirements gathering, design, development, and validation best practices
  • 7+ years experience with experience with FME software - FME Form (Workbench) and FME Flow (Server)
  • 7+ year’s experience with Esri’s Utility Network
  • 7+ year’s experience working with GIS in the utility industry, electric, gas, water, waste water and/or telecom
  • Progressive experience in designing, implementing, and managing Enterprise Geographic Information Systems, including substantial GIS project management expertise
  • Demonstrated understanding of enterprise GIS administration and project management
  • 4+ years project management experience with demonstrated ability to perform within the project scope & timeline
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to ever-changing situations
  • Exemplary problem solver skills and excellent written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Expertise with MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle for versioned enterprise geodatabase

Good To Have

  • Experience converting spatial data using Safe Software’s FME Flow and FME Form
  • Strong knowledge of Geodatabase management and ArcGIS Server configuration
  • Programming experience with ArcGIS Javascript/REST APIs, Python, ArcPy, ArcObjects, FME, Azure/AWS
  • Capacity to develop/calculate performance metrics to demonstrate status
  • Experience with development/testing of routines for GIS data to identify data quality and accuracy
  • Advanced Excel capabilities
  • Knowledge or experience with GE Smallworld software (Electric Office, Gas Office, Gas Transmission Office)
