This Position reports to:

R&D Team Lead




In this role, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business of Process Control Platform Division in Bangalore.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA systems, Emergency Shutdown Systems. Experience with ABB systems is preferred.
• Software testing, Defect management system, Azure Devops, Virtual environments (VMware / HyperView / Azure).
• Test Automation, Setting up test environment (both virtual and physical).
• Test case writing, review and reporting.
  
  
  

Qualifications for the role:

• The candidate shall have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with the described skill sets.
• Requirement understanding, Preparing test scenarios, test plan and test cases. Automating the test cases.
• Contribute as a domain expert (industrial automation domain) to development. Comply with ABB quality processes. Provide L4 support as necessary.
• Maintain test environment healthy all the time. Participate and contribute in brainstorming sessions on solutions to problems, product enhancements, etc.
• Update the test status in Azure Devops daily.
• Participate and contribute in Sprint, Sprint planning, Sprint demo, Sprint retrospective and lessons learnt meetings. Contribute to product training and documents.
