Automation Tester (225-703)

The Automation Tester plays a pivotal role in the software development lifecycle, responsible for ensuring that software products are tested robustly and efficiently before release. This professional leverages automated testing tools and scripts to validate the quality, performance, and reliability of applications under different conditions and scenarios. Within the role, one would work closely with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to generate effective test plans and strategies, execute automated tests, and promptly report and document any defects. Through continuous collaboration, they contribute to the refinement and enhancement of the software, ensuring that any issues are addressed preemptively, thus safeguarding the end-user experience. This position requires a deep understanding of automation frameworks, scripting languages, and testing tools, alongside a keen eye for detail and an analytical mindset to troubleshoot complex issues that may arise.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
• Collaborate with software developers to understand product requirements and ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Identify, record, and document thoroughly all defects and bugs found during testing.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved to ensure system integrity.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
• Monitor testing process and provide feedback on adequacy and coverage of tests.
• Analyze logs to spot trends and insights that inform future testing protocols.
• Update and maintain automated test frameworks to keep tests current and effective.
• Deliver test reports and recommend continuous improvements in the QA process.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in testing automation technology.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve and verify resolution of software defects.
• Participate actively in agile team activities and sprint planning meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software quality assurance and automation testing.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Java or Python.
• Familiarity with Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, and other relevant testing utilities.
• Experience in testing web applications within Agile and DevOps environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
