ECommerce Architect - Digital Commerce Implementation

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced ECommerce Architect to lead a strategic cloud-based ecommerce platform implementation across diverse retail domains. The ideal candidate should have exposure of working with at least two different eCommerce tools; and the implementation for grocery is a must. This role requires deep expertise in modern ecommerce platforms, headless architecture, and grocery retail operations to deliver a comprehensive digital commerce solution.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on ecommerce experience with demonstrable track record of successful implementations, must have grocery implementation.
• Proven experience with at least 2 cloud-based ecommerce platforms, (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, SAP Hybris).
• Full implementation experience from requirements gathering through go-live and post-launch optimization.
• Grocery retail industry experience with understanding of unique operational challenges and requirements.
• Headless commerce architecture design and implementation.
• Order Management Systems configuration and customization.
• Systems integration experience including APIs, middleware, and data synchronization.
• Timeslot management and scheduling system implementation (this is a nice to have ).
• Cloud platform expertise (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API-first design principles.
• Strong project management capabilities with experience in agile methodologies.
• Experience with performance optimization and scalability planning.
• Knowledge of ecommerce analytics and reporting requirements.
• Certification in chosen ecommerce platforms (such as Shopify Plus, Commerce Tools, Magento).
• Experience with domain-specific technologies (POS systems, scale integration, loyalty programs).
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for food retail is nice to have.
• Experience with mobile commerce and progressive web applications.
• Understanding of modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
