Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Stakeholder Engagement
    • Ensure Camera OKRs and KPIs are properly achieved in the India Market through SMART Goals
    • Act as the primary interface between engineering and business teams, representing the voice of Indian consumers in cross-functional reviews.
    • Align field testing and user trial plans with input from India-based Marketing, Sales, and Product Management teams, ensuring regional priorities are captured.
    • Deliver synthesized feedback and actionable reports to China-based engineering and product development teams, ensuring technical and experiential alignment.
    • Coordinate across teams to prioritize fixes, optimizations, and tuning targets based on market relevance and launch readiness.
  • Camera Field Testing:
    • Manage prototypes for tests as well as local lab infrastructure in India
    • Lead field validation of camera features (photo and video) in real-world Indian scenarios across cities, demographics, and conditions.
    • Manage logistics of prototype availability, test route planning, and data collection with attention to code freeze timelines.
    • Evaluate image and video quality, as well as camera software performance, with both expert eye and consumer-centric benchmarks (e.g., skin tone, low-light, selfie).
    • Manage loca contractor workforce connected to Camera Development Organization
    • Consumer Data Analysis Retail Insights:
      • Analyze data from user trials, satisfaction studies, retailer feedback, and post-sale behavior to identify usage patterns and performance gaps.
      • Collaborate with local retailers, service partners, and sales teams to gather frontline insights about customer pain points and buying behavior.
      • Transform data into actionable insights to influence tuning priorities, UX refinements, and pre-launch decisions.
      • Develop surveys and interact with customers and retailers to figure out opportunities of improvement for Camera Product Teams.
    • User Trial Leadership:
      • Design, execute, and scale consumer trials across India to evaluate product-market fit and user satisfaction pre-launch.
      • Capture qualitative and quantitative feedback via guided usage, interviews, and surveys.
      • Translate consumer experience into insight decks and recommendations tailored for engineering and product teams.
    • Communication Reporting:
      • Maintain clear, structured, and timely communication with China-based algorithm, camera, and system engineering teams.
      • Present field findings in bilingual-friendly formats (media + structured logs + concise English summaries).
      • Build trust and influence across time zones through regular updates, clear status tracking, and issue escalation protocols.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
      • 3+ years’ experience in smartphone QA, camera testing, or product validation, ideally with exposure to field and consumer-facing roles.
      • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional communication, especially involving both technical and commercial teams.
      • Familiarity with Indian consumer trends, mobile usage patterns, and expectations.
      • Fluent in English; fluency in a major Indian language
      • Comfortable interfacing with international teams, especially engineering and ODM partners in China in multiple timezones.
    Preferred Skills

    • Experience working closely with product marketing and sales organizations in India.
    • Familiarity with Android ecosystem, camera tuning metrics, and mobile imaging systems.
    • Proficiency in tools such as ADB, log capture, issue reporting systems (JIRA), and basic imaging evaluation frameworks.
