As a Commis - II, you will play an integral role in the food preparation process under the guidance of senior chefs. Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and meats.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout shifts and uphold sanitary standards.
  • Follow recipe guidelines to ensure consistent dish quality and portion size.
  • Work collaboratively with senior chefs to learn new techniques and improve skills.
  • Ensure all food storage meets food safety standards and monitor stock levels regularly.
  • Assist in the preparation of sauces, soups, and broths as directed by the chef.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to operational protocols.
  • Receive and check deliveries for quality and accuracy, storing items as per guidelines.
  • Participate in daily kitchen closing procedures and cleaning schedules diligently.
  • Support the team by performing additional tasks as required during service times.
  • Remain updated on culinary trends and adapt techniques under the supervision of chefs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality food.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Certificate or diploma in culinary arts or equivalent experience is advantageous.
