Job Description

As a Safety Officer, you will be tasked with ensuring the health and safety of employees within the workplace. Your primary goal is to minimize occupational risks, formulating and implementing safety policies that comply with legal guidelines. You will conduct regular safety audits, provide training sessions, and investigate any incidents to determine causes and recommend preventive measures. This role demands a proactive individual who remains updated on any changes in safety laws and regulations, possesses excellent attention to detail, and can effectively communicate safety plans and policies to ensure a safe working environment for everyone. As a cornerstone of our safety team, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety awareness.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures aligned with regulations.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify and rectify potential hazards.
  • Lead safety audits and recommend corrective actions to improve safety standards.
  • Coordinate safety training programs and drills for employees at all levels.
  • Monitor compliance with safety policies and prepare reports for management review.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with management to develop emergency response and evacuation plans.
  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents and compile statistical data for analysis.
  • Prepare and present safety briefings and orientation sessions for new hires.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of safety equipment across the organization.
  • Stay informed on current legislation, regulations, and practices in occupational health and safety.
  • Advise management on necessary actions to improve health and safety conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar safety role.
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and procedures related to occupational safety.
  • Solid understanding of risk assessment and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey safety guidelines effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple safety-related projects.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety practices is highly desirable.
