Job Description

The role of a Purchase Executive is pivotal in any organization seeking efficiency and cost-effectiveness in its procurement processes. As a Purchase Executive, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and securing high-quality materials and services that align with the company's standards and budget requirements. Your prowess in supply chain management and vendor relations will ensure that the organization maintains optimal inventory levels without surplus expenditure. You must have strong analytical skills that enable you to assess market trends and forecasts to anticipate the needs of the business efficiently. In this role, you will collaborate closely with other departments to support the overall business strategies and objectives, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures while fostering sustainable relationships with suppliers.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new vendors to meet organizational procurement needs effectively.
  • Negotiate prices, contract terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships, resolving any issues that arise in supplier engagements.
  • Oversee the preparation and processing of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and pricing dynamics.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to ensure payments are processed timely and accurately.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Review and evaluate procurement contracts regularly for optimal supplier performance.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on the quality of goods and services.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements concerning procurement practices.
  • Liaise with internal departments to align procurement activities with overall business goals.
  • Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, cost analyses, and supplier performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchase Executive or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of reducing procurement costs effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills, capable of analyzing market trends and sales reports.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
