The Media Relations Coordinator is a pivotal role within our communications team, responsible for nurturing and enhancing our organization's relationships with media outlets, journalists, and other key opinion shapers. This position requires a dynamic and strategic individual who can effectively convey our organization's narrative, values, and objectives to the public through various media channels. The successful candidate will be skilled in media outreach, press release writing, and will have a strong understanding of the media landscape. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic media relations strategies to boost brand visibility.
  • Create and distribute press releases to announce upcoming events and organizational news.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media personnel.
  • Monitor media coverage and report on the effectiveness of media relations initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather and disseminate important information to the media.
  • Prepare and pitch story ideas to media outlets to promote organizational activities.
  • Organize press conferences, media briefings, and interviews for key company spokespeople.
  • Handle media inquiries and facilitate prompt and accurate responses to questions and requests.
  • Manage crisis communications and ensure effective messaging during sensitive situations.
  • Develop media kits and other promotional materials in alignment with company objectives.
  • Evaluate media trends to provide insights and recommendations for media activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to support integrated campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in media relations or public relations roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position.
  • Proficient in using PR management software and media monitoring tools effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communication strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
