The role of a BIM Coordinator is pivotal in the construction and architecture industry, serving as a bridge between architects, engineers, and construction professionals. A Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator ensures that all stakeholders have access to accurate and up-to-date project information at every stage. This role involves managing and maintaining digital design models, promoting collaboration, and ensuring consistent standards are met across various project stages. As a BIM Coordinator, you will oversee the integration of digital models from different disciplines, ensuring seamless communication and coordination amongst team members. The ability to resolve clashes within the design process, anticipate potential issues, and recommend solutions is crucial. You will also play a key role in training team members on BIM software and processes, continually updating the project BIM Execution Plan, and ensuring adherence to industry and company-wide standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage BIM data across all project phases and disciplines.
• Maintain updated BIM Execution Plan and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Facilitate collaboration between architects, engineers, and construction teams using BIM models.
• Perform clash detection and resolve potential design issues before construction phases.
• Develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards within the project framework.
• Train and support project teams in using BIM software for efficient project outcomes.
• Monitor quality of models and ensure the integrity of the BIM data remains intact.
• Coordinate all digital files and information for seamless project delivery timelines.
• Ensure that all stakeholders have consistent access to updated project information.
• Work collaboratively with project managers to integrate BIM strategies.
• Regularly update stakeholders on project developments and BIM implementation progress.
• Recommend innovative solutions and enhancements to optimize BIM practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a BIM Coordinator or similar role in construction projects.
• Proficiency in BIM software, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, design principles, and BIM standards.
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination among diverse project teams.
• Ability to analyze complex technical drawings and identify potential issues.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills in the design coordination process.
