A Plumbing and Fire Draughtsman is an essential figure in the construction and mechanical services industry, charged with translating engineering designs into detailed technical drawings and plans. This role focuses on preparing accurate layouts that depict plumbing systems, ensuring they are compliant with current codes and regulations. Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical drawings and plans for plumbing systems using CAD software.
• Develop and design comprehensive fire protection systems for new and existing buildings.
• Ensure all drawings and designs comply with current building codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to refine design concepts and specifications.
• Review and revise designs based on feedback from the project management team.
• Prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates for plumbing and fire systems.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices for safety.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design and installation issues on-site.
• Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during project execution.
• Create and maintain records of drawings, databases, and revisions for reference.
• Ensure timely delivery of completed drawings and project documents to clients.
• Participate in design meetings and propose solutions to design challenges.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in using AutoCAD or similar CAD software for drafting purposes.
• Minimum of three years of experience in plumbing and fire draughting role.
• Solid understanding of local building codes and fire safety regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with project teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently under pressure.
