Job Description

An Accounts Executive specializing in Accounts Receivable is a crucial part of a company's financial operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring that a company receives payments for goods and services, and efficiently manages the inflow of stages of payments to maintain the business's financial health. The Accounts Executive will handle the entire process of receiving payments, from monitoring overdue invoices to updating accounts and preparing month-end closing procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong numeracy skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software. They must also possess excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with customers and internal departments to resolve any disputes or payment delays. In a fast-paced environment, the Accounts Executive must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the accounts receivable team operations and objectives.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments from clients and customers.
  • Track and follow-up on overdue accounts, working to minimize outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate with sales and other departments to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare and send accurate invoices to clients in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports regarding accounts receivable.
  • Generate statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders' review.
  • Implement and improve processes and policies to ensure smooth account operations.
  • Reconcile complex accounts and suggest appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and liabilities.
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual financial reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience working with accounts receivable and collections processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and other financial programs is necessary.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with colleagues and clients.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Understanding of financial accounting and reporting principles and practices.
