Job Description

As a Restaurant Captain, you will play a pivotal role in providing an exceptional dining experience to our guests. You will be responsible for supervising and leading the restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations and high service standards. Your role involves interacting with guests, maintaining the ambiance, and ensuring an excellent and seamless dining service. You will act as a bridge between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff, ensuring all orders are processed efficiently. You will also be responsible for managing reservations, addressing customer complaints, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Your leadership skills will be instrumental in training staff and maintaining high hospitality standards, ultimately contributing to the success and reputation of our restaurant.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor front-of-house restaurant staff to ensure quality service.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
  • Manage reservations and seating to maximize efficiency and satisfaction.
  • Ensure the dining environment is maintained to the highest cleanliness standards.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Train new employees and conduct performance evaluations for the team.
  • Verify that all food and beverages meet quality and portion standards.
  • Maintain and update records of orders, payments, and inventories regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Enhance team performance through motivation and continuous feedback.
  • Participate in planning and executing promotions or special events in the restaurant.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve service and profitability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory restaurant role or similar capacity.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication skills for dealing with staff and customers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hospitality industry regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress gracefully.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Formal training in hospitality or culinary management is a plus.
