Job Description

A Logistics Coordinator is a key role within the supply chain operation of a company, responsible for overseeing and facilitating the supply chain operations of the company. They are tasked with the optimization of logistics operations to ensure a seamless, cost-effective, and efficient flow of goods from suppliers to customers while maintaining corporate standards and regulatory requirements. The role necessitates a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to strategize logistics plans. The Logistics Coordinator must coordinate with various departments and external partners to ensure the smooth execution of logistics tasks. They are expected to effectively manage warehouse inventory, track shipments, and improve the level of customer satisfaction by ensuring timely delivery of products.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations utilizing logistics IT systems.
  • Ensure that goods are in compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, including warehouse inventories.
  • Analyze and optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Schedule and monitor the delivery of products to ensure timely shipments.
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers to address any logistical issues.
  • Track product shipments and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during transit.
  • Prepare logistics reports and provide feedback to management on performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Negotiate transportation and logistics rates with service providers.
  • Assist in creating and implementing logistics plans to meet company objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar logistics role.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities required.
  • Familiarity with logistics software such as ERP and freight management systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and a commitment to continuous improvement.
