Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient running of the dental office. You will support the dentist in all aspects of patient care, from routine check-ups to more advanced procedures. This position is ideal for a compassionate and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about patient care and oral health. Your expertise in chairside assistance and administrative skills will be vital in delivering high-quality dental services. Working closely with a team of professionals, you will help maintain patient records, prepare treatment rooms, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during various treatment procedures, including exams and surgeries.
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring supplies are ready.
  • Welcome and comfort patients, ensuring they are at ease before dental procedures.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as per the dentist’s instructions.
  • Record and maintain patient information and treatment details accurately in their files.
  • Manage dental office administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and handling billing.
  • Provide post-operative instructions as prescribed by the dentist to patients after procedures.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies to maintain optimal dental health.
  • Order and restock dental supplies and materials to ensure office efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety guidelines within the dental practice.
  • Support patient flow by monitoring and guiding them during their visit.
  • Handle laboratory tasks as directed by the dentist, including but not limited to prosthetic fabrication.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential is highly preferred for this role.
  • Previous experience in a dental practice or healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Proficient in using dental technology and software applications for record-keeping.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and safety protocols is required.
