The Cardiac Technician is an essential member of the healthcare team, providing vital support in the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions. Working under the supervision of a cardiologist, the Cardiac Technician is responsible for conducting various diagnostic tests to assess the condition and functionality of patients' cardiovascular systems. This role involves operating sophisticated medical equipment, analyzing test results, and maintaining patient records with a high level of accuracy. A successful candidate must have a profound understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and pathology, combined with the technical skills necessary to perform procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), stress tests, and Holter monitoring. Excellent communication skills are critical as the technician frequently interacts with patients to explain procedures and answer their queries.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) tests to monitor heart activities and analyze results.
• Assist physicians during cardiac stress testing and provide necessary technical support.
• Operate and maintain all cardiac diagnostic equipment with precision and accuracy.
• Prepare patients for various cardiac procedures ensuring comfort and safety.
• Monitor patients' heart rates and vital signs throughout the testing procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records and test results of all procedures.
• Educate patients and their families on cardiac procedures and equipment uses.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cardiovascular care.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during diagnostic tests.
• Coordinate with healthcare teams to discuss patient results and treatment plans.
• Calibrate equipment and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Support cardiologists in performing invasive procedures under strict supervision.

Requirements

• An Associate’s degree or certified training program in cardiovascular technology.
• Prior experience working as a Cardiac Technician or in a similar role preferred.
• Strong understanding of human cardiovascular systems and medical terminologies.
• Proficiency in operating and interpreting various cardiac diagnostic machines.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures.
• Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure medical environment.
