Job Description

The Assistant Merchandiser is an integral part of the retail team, working closely with the Merchandiser to ensure that products are available and presented in alignment with the company's sales and visual merchandising standards. This role is essential to achieving the company's sales goals and optimizing inventory management through effective planning and collaboration. The Assistant Merchandiser will assist in developing strategies to maximize product performance, assist with supply chain logistics, and analyze sales data to influence decision-making processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong understanding of retail dynamics. Responsibilities

  • Support the Merchandiser in developing and implementing merchandising strategies effectively.
  • Analyze sales figures and market trends to anticipate product needs and demands.
  • Assist in managing the product supply chain from ordering to delivery for optimal stock control.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure product availability and timely deliveries.
  • Review and communicate product performance insights to the merchandising management team.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of product launches and promotions.
  • Aid in visual merchandising efforts to align product presentations with brand standards.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inventory records for auditing purposes.
  • Assist in researching competitor and market trends to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Support in developing pricing and promotional strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to align merchandising efforts with campaigns.
  • Provide administrative support including data entry, reporting, and documentation as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or merchandising role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential.
  • Strong organizational abilities with great attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with merchandising software and supply chain management tools is advantageous.
