Job Description

As a Network Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing an organization's computer networks. This position involves ensuring the organization's IT network infrastructure operates efficiently with the least possible downtime. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet systems. Responsible for network performance monitoring, troubleshooting network-related problems, and ensuring network security through established protocols, you'll be a crucial part of the IT team. Your expertise will also guide the purchasing of new hardware and software to meet the organization's technological demands. Responsibilities

  • Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, and internet systems effectively.
  • Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and other network appliances.
  • Oversee software and hardware upgrades within network infrastructures as necessary.
  • Administer network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network-related hardware, software, and other device issues.
  • Monitor network performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users.
  • Optimize network performance by supervising performance, addressing bottlenecks, and resolving issues.
  • Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services, and firewalls.
  • Manage the wireless access points and ensure seamless connectivity for all users.
  • Document network problems and resolutions for future reference and training purposes.
  • Work with vendors to support and supply new systems, software, and hardware.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to design and implement new network solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role in a business setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer networks, network administration, and network installation.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols, routing, and switching systems required.
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills along with an ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for efficiency.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate) is considered an advantage.
