The Lab Assistant for our organization is tasked with supporting the scientific and analytical efforts within our laboratories. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of the lab by assisting scientists and researchers with experiments, maintaining laboratory supplies, and ensuring that safety protocols are strictly adhered to. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with an aptitude for laboratory procedures and experimentation. Responsibilities

• Assist scientists in setting up and conducting laboratory experiments accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain an organized inventory of laboratory materials, tools, and supplies.
• Record and document experimental observations and data with precision and attention to detail.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
• Ensure that laboratory safety protocols are followed to maintain a secure work environment.
• Participate in the preparation of chemical solutions and reagents under guidance and supervision.
• Assist in the cleaning and sterilization of laboratory equipment and workspaces.
• Support the team in the development and optimization of experimental procedures.
• Track and report any issues with laboratory equipment to ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate effectively with laboratory technicians and researchers on various project tasks.
• Contribute to the maintenance of accurate records and databases of experimental results.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss lab progress and project updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific field is preferred.
• Prior experience working in a laboratory setting is highly advantageous.
• Strong foundational knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail in all tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented laboratory environment.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment such as microscopes and centrifuges.
• Effective communication skills to relay information clearly and concisely.
