Job Description

The Store Assistant plays a pivotal role in the seamless operation of our retail environment. As a customer-first ambassador, the Store Assistant is entrusted with providing outstanding service, ensuring each visitor receives a warm and friendly welcome. The role demands an organized individual with the ability to multitask, as the assistant is responsible for keeping the store tidy and ensuring product displays are visually appealing. There is a strong emphasis on stock management, meaning accurate record-keeping, and replenishment of goods is a daily task. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a keen interest in our product range to assist customers effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store environment at all times.
  • Assist in inventory management, including conducting regular stock checks and audits.
  • Replenish shelves and ensure products are neatly and attractively displayed.
  • Support sales activities by promoting products and special promotions actively.
  • Process transactions efficiently using POS systems, ensuring accurate cash handling.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve the store's sales and operational goals.
  • Assist in the set-up of displays and update signage with current promotions and pricing.
  • Handle customer complaints with empathy and strive to find satisfactory resolutions.
  • Participate in training sessions to continually improve product knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute ideas for improvements in customer experience and store operations.
  • Monitor and manage loss prevention by following theft reduction strategies consistently.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Proficiency with Point-of-Sale systems and basic computer skills are advantageous.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, and lift objects within the physical requirements.
