Job Description

As an IT Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and providing technical support to our employees. You will be the first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, ensuring that any problems are resolved efficiently and effectively to minimize downtime. In this role, you will work closely with the IT team to address network issues and assist with the setup and maintenance of computers and other devices. Your excellent customer service skills will be instrumental in ensuring users receive timely and effective assistance. This position is ideal for someone with a strong passion for technology and a desire to develop their IT skills in a dynamic environment.


Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to IT support requests from employees via phone, email, or in person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of software and hardware components.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions using a ticketing system.
  • Support network operations and security protocols, including monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct regular maintenance of IT equipment, including computers, printers, and servers.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to users on software and hardware usage.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on various projects and system upgrades.
  • Assist in the deployment and management of mobile devices and applications.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry developments and emerging technologies.
  • Perform regular backups of vital data and systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Contribute to the development and updating of IT policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a technical support role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, networks, and hardware.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail in troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on user support.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new software and technologies as required.
