Job Description

The role of an Import Export Executive is pivotal in streamlining the logistics and documentation process of international shipments. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of global trade regulations and policies. The ideal candidate will oversee the import-export activities, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, and act as a point of contact between domestic and international stakeholders. The role involves coordinating with shipping agencies, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to ensure timely clearance and delivery of goods. They will also manage documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. An Import Export Executive must stay up-to-date with tariff schemas and any changes in trade laws to mitigate risks and take advantage of trade agreements, aiming to optimize logistics processes and cost-effectiveness.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate international shipping and logistics processes to optimize delivery schedules.
  • Prepare and review documentation for all import and export activities accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with all import and export laws and company policies.
  • Work closely with domestic and international stakeholders to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations to update internal policies accordingly.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders and customers to track shipments efficiently.
  • Manage third-party relationships, including freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Perform cost analysis to improve the efficiency of logistics operations.
  • Resolve issues related to shipment delays, tracking queries, and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with finance for payment processing and managing shipment invoices.
  • Maintain databases with shipment transit times and goods movements accurately.
  • Analyze and mitigate risks associated with global shipping operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an import/export or logistics role.
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in using software for logistics management and documentation.
  • Strong negotiation skills to manage vendors and contracts effectively.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
