Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a pivotal role within our organization, tasked with maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction in our facility. As a leader in the housekeeping department, you will oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping team, ensuring that rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the company's standards. You will be responsible for managing staff schedules, training new employees, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team. This role not only requires skills in managing people but also demands a proactive approach in anticipating and addressing the housekeeping requirements of our facility. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department to maintain quality standards.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure consistent high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Train new housekeeping staff members on cleaning protocols and safety procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment necessary for operations.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the housekeeping team to discuss performance and improvements.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure timely repairs of broken fixtures or facilities.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations to protect employees and guests.
  • Address and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Develop strategies to improve overall cleanliness and guest satisfaction ratings.
  • Ensure that linen and laundry services operate efficiently and meet quality standards.
  • Provide reports on housekeeping operations, such as expenditures and staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and a talent for managing and motivating teams.
  • Proficiency in housekeeping management software and ability to handle administrative tasks.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety practices within a housekeeping context.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in hospitality management are a plus.
