We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be the face of our organization, responsible for processing transactions accurately and efficiently, while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. This position requires a candidate who excels in customer service, has a good eye for details, and can operate cash registers and point-of-sale terminals. You will handle various forms of payments, provide correct change, and assist customers with product inquiries. Your role is crucial in maintaining the financial integrity of the company and providing a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process cash, check, debit, and credit card transactions with speed.
• Identify prices of products, services, or admission fees and tabulate bills.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer, ensure no shortage or surplus at day's end.
• Greet customers and provide excellent customer service and assistance.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
• Cross-sell and promote products and services to enhance customer purchases.
• Regularly replenish shelves and display areas to ensure stocks remain unexhausted.
• Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Verify the age of customers purchasing age-restricted products if applicable.
• Assist with returns and exchanges, ensuring adherence to store policy.
• Coordinate with management to ensure promotions and new stock items are known.
• Compile and balance daily transaction reports at the end of each shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required for the cashier's position.
• Previous experience in cash handling or customer service is preferred.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle money accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to maintain a friendly and calm demeanor in high-stress situations.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods during working hours.
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and cash registers.
