Job Description

The Supervisor - Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the maintenance department's operations and ensuring that all equipment and facilities are in optimal working condition. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising all preventive and corrective maintenance activities while ensuring safety standards and compliance with company policies. The Supervisor will work closely with other departments to ensure minimal disruption and maximum efficiency in operations. Additionally, they will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring proper training, and maintaining inventory of necessary supplies. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise daily maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all maintenance operations.
  • Manage and oversee the performance of a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Order, track, and maintain inventory of all necessary maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.
  • Train maintenance staff on new equipment, safety procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance outcomes and offer recommendations for improvements.
  • Review and approve maintenance work orders, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in maintenance, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance procedures, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective maintenance programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with all levels within an organization.
