Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of a facility, ensuring that all areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. This position requires effective supervision of housekeeping staff, overseeing their daily operations, and providing support to achieve the organizational goals related to hygiene and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. With responsibilities ranging from inspections to training, the Housekeeping Supervisor ensures the seamless operation of the department, always aiming to exceed customer expectations and adhere to safety and health regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all areas to ensure cleanliness standards.
  • Provide training and direction to housekeeping staff to improve efficiency.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Prepare and manage schedules for housekeeping staff to cover all shifts.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues and guest complaints promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies and regulations.
  • Liaise with other department heads to coordinate cleaning schedules effectively.
  • Report and track maintenance issues to ensure timely repairs and upkeep.
  • Develop and implement effective housekeeping strategies and improvement plans.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback for professional development.
  • Oversee housekeeping budget and strive for cost-effective operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred in hospitality.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
  • Proven supervisory experience in a similar role in a comparable environment.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping and cleaning methods and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with housekeeping software.
