Job Description

An Accounts Payable Executive plays a crucial role in the financial operations of an organization by managing outgoing payments and ensuring that the company’s financial obligations are met on time. This role involves a lot of intricate work including processing invoices, verifying financial records, and liaising with suppliers to address issues or discrepancies. An Accounts Payable Executive must possess excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines. This position often requires collaboration with multiple departments to ensure that all transactions are transparent, accurate, and properly documented for future reference. The ideal candidate will be analytical, meticulous, and possess strong communication skills to foster positive supplier relationships, which are essential for the smooth running of business operations.


Responsibilities

  • Verify and process invoices for payment ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accounts payable files and records for easy retrieval and audit trails.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and execute wire transfers, ACH payments, and manual checks.
  • Liaise with vendors to address and resolve payment issues effectively.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and deadlines are met.
  • Assist in month-end closing by managing and adjusting account balances.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to verify purchase orders and receipt of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory financial requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for management when required.
  • Support audits by providing accurate and detailed financial information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in an accounts payable role within a corporate environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as SAP.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet targets.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in accounts payable.
