Job Description

The Collection Manager 04N25 plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the collection processes within an organization. This role involves formulating and implementing strategies to optimize debt recovery while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. A successful Collection Manager is proactive, analytical, and has strong leadership skills to manage and mentor a team. They are responsible for streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the overall financial health of the organization. With exceptional communication and negotiation skills, the Collection Manager works closely with clients to resolve outstanding debts and maintain positive relationships. They are also responsible for reporting on collection activities and outcomes to senior management, using data to inform business decisions.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to maximize debt recovery.
  • Monitor team performance and provide necessary coaching to improve effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies in collection activities.
  • Analyze collection data to identify trends and areas for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with financial departments to reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy.
  • Resolve client disputes and issues to facilitate timely payment collections.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on collection activities to senior management.
  • Evaluate and implement tools and technologies to enhance collection processes.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to share goals and align collection strategies.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate collection team members to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop contingency plans to manage risks associated with debt collections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in collections or credit management role.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team of collection agents.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on complex data.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a client-oriented focus.
  • Proficient in the use of collection software and Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
