Interior Designer (225-729)

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with clients to determine design preferences and functional needs.
• Create detailed design plans, including floor plans and elevations using CAD software.
• Develop project budgets and manage costs to ensure alignment with client expectations.
• Select appropriate materials, furnishings, and color schemes to achieve desired design outcomes.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to implement design plans effectively.
• Attend site visits to ensure quality of work aligns with design specifications.
• Prepare and present design proposals to clients, incorporating their feedback accordingly.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design trends, materials, and industry innovations.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks as needed.
• Ensure final design solutions meet city regulations and safety standards.
• Source vendors and negotiate contracts for purchasing design elements and services.
• Develop and maintain a portfolio of completed projects to showcase design capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field is required.
• Proven experience in interior design with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills for client and team consultations and presentations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Certification by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) is preferred.
