Job Description

An IT Technician plays a pivotal role in maintaining the technological infrastructure of a company, ensuring that all IT-related issues are addressed swiftly and efficiently. As a key member of the IT department, the IT Technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting the hardware and software necessary for the company’s day-to-day operations. This position also involves troubleshooting and resolving any technology-related problems faced by staff, which may range from network connectivity issues to software installation errors. The role requires a proactive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure to ensure minimal disruption to the business. Responsibilities

  • Install and configure computer hardware, systems, and networks for optimal use.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems, ensuring stability and functionality.
  • Respond promptly to technical support queries from company staff and clients.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and provide viable solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and changes.
  • Perform regular software updates and patches to safeguard systems against vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing information technology procedures and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with IT team members on projects and technical improvements.
  • Manage equipment inventory and ensure availability of necessary IT supplies.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Deliver user training and guidance on new technologies and processes.
  • Provide technical support for video conferencing which may include remote setup.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an IT Technician or relevant technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking systems, and peripheral equipment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting IT hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple support requests under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills to convey tech-related information to non-tech users.
