Job Description

An Accounts Executive plays a crucial role in the finance department of a company, overseeing and managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing important financial reports. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices. The Accounts Executive is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, assisting in budget preparation, and collaborating with other departments to provide financial insights that support informed business decisions. They act as a bridge between finance and operations, ensuring smooth financial management and compliance with internal and external financial regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial records and reports.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure accurate balances.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and ongoing monitoring of financial performance.
  • Prepare month-end and year-end closing processes and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and reviews.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement efficient accounting processes and systems.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and handle contract negotiations when necessary.
  • Monitor cash flow and develop strategies to manage financial risks effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience working in an accounting role is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate reporting.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A certification such as CPA or CMA is highly desirable but not mandatory.
