Software Engr II

Job Description

Honeywell is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python and Java, experience with cloud technologies, and a passion for delivering high-quality software products that support Honeywell's digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Python and Java.
• Build scalable APIs, microservices, and backend systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to define and implement technical solutions.
• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers when required.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Java.
• Experience with object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Proficiency in Git-based source control systems.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Knowledge of software testing frameworks and debugging tools.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with data processing, analytics, or machine learning applications is a plus.
