Description

Circana is hiring an AI Automation Engineer for its AI & Automation transformation program. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and shipping production automations across the global Operations Division.

Role: Lead Software Engineer - AI Automation

Location: Remote (Bangalore/Pune)

Experience

• 6+ years of Python development experience in a production environment
• Solid REST API integration experience
• Working knowledge of relational and cloud data stores
• Direct experience integrating Large Language Models into production workflows
• Git proficiency
• Ability to read process specifications and ask the right questions before coding
• Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies and sprint-based tooling
• Excellent communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design the technical approach from process specifications, including data flow, integration points, LLM components, error handling, and human-in-the-loop touchpoints
• Build automations in Python with REST API calls, data store reads and writes, transformation logic, LLM integration, output validation, and orchestration
• Integrate LLMs into production workflows and handle hallucination as an engineering problem
• Write tests for core logic, external dependencies, and LLM output quality against acceptance criteria
• Deploy solutions to production, monitor initial runs, and manage hypercare until stable operation
• Contribute reusable patterns to the program’s shared patterns library and component library
• Maintain code in a shared repository with branching, pull request review, and documentation standards
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and surface blockers early and constructively
• Build lightweight full-stack tooling when automations require human-facing interfaces
• Contribute to multi-step agentic workflows as the capability matures
• Hand off completed automations to operations teams with non-engineer-friendly documentation
  
  

Additional Responsibilities

• Build review queues, exception dashboards, approval workflows, and configuration surfaces when needed
• Support the program’s AI & Automation transformation across Circana’s global Operations Division
• Work in short-cycle sprint pods that deliver a working automation within a single quarter
• Help deliver automation outcomes aligned to run-rate cost savings across 17 operational value stream areas
• Collaborate with the Solutions Architect function on process specifications
