Job Description

The Production Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient manufacturing processes within a company by evaluating resources, optimizing production schedules, and overseeing the production activities. This professional is responsible for maintaining the quality and safety of manufacturing processes while minimizing costs. A successful Production Officer will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling them to monitor production performance closely and recommend improvements. They work closely with other departments such as quality assurance, supply chain, and operations to align the production activities with business goals. The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and communication skills. They also demonstrate an ability to lead a team and adapt to changes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production plans to meet business demands promptly.
  • Oversee daily production activities ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure adequate materials are available.
  • Monitor production costs and identify solutions to minimize expenses effectively.
  • Collaborate with engineering to resolve production challenges and optimize processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the production area.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation and reporting for management review.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment and machinery reliability.
  • Lead and motivate production teams to achieve performance goals and targets.
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback for continuous development.
  • Coordinate with sales teams to forecast production needs and align output.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production role.
  • Proven ability to manage and optimize production processes effectively.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and production management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing diverse production teams.
  • Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple production projects simultaneously.
