A Merchandiser plays a crucial role in the retail and supply chain sectors by ensuring that products are presented in an appealing and accessible manner, optimizing retail space usage, and ultimately driving sales. As a Merchandiser, you will collaborate with buyers, suppliers, and retail teams to create visually compelling merchandise layouts that align with company goals and market trends. Responsibilities

  • Analyze retail sales data to develop merchandise strategies that drive better sales outcomes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability aligns with sales forecasts.
  • Design and implement visually appealing product displays to attract customer interest.
  • Monitor market trends to determine the need for new products or adjustments to existing lines.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional strategies that enhance merchandise visibility.
  • Plan and execute markdowns or promotions to optimize inventory levels and profitability.
  • Conduct store visits to ensure visual merchandising standards are upheld and identify improvement areas.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports on merchandising performance and recommend improvements.
  • Manage inventory levels and adjust orders based on product performance and sales trends.
  • Train and support retail staff on merchandising best practices and brand standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards in all merchandising activities.
  • Participate in annual budgeting processes to set realistic sales and inventory goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in merchandising or retail management roles.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and sales performance tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for successful merchandising planning.
  • Excellent communication abilities for collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Adept at multitasking and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
