Job Description

The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with all applicable safety laws and regulations. This position requires an individual with strong leadership and communication skills, who can effectively implement and promote a safety and environmental culture within the organization. The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing safety and environment management systems, facilitating training programs, and conducting audits and inspections to ensure continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying potential risks, implementing preventive measures, and providing guidance and support to all levels of staff to ensure a safe workplace, thereby minimizing environmental impacts and enhancing the overall health and safety performance of the company.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to integrate HSE considerations into operational processes.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine causes and prevent recurrences.
  • Coordinate the delivery of safety training and educational programs for employees.
  • Ensure all safety equipment and personal protective gear are available and functional.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety audits, training sessions, and incident reports.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and safety authorities.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on HSE performance metrics to management.
  • Encourage employee participation in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Review and update emergency response plans and conduct drills regularly.
  • Promote a zero-incident culture by motivating the workforce to adhere to safety practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in an HSE role within an industrial setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead safety training and education sessions.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess risks and implement effective safety measures.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with all levels of personnel.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is highly desirable.
