Job Description

The Food Quality Controller plays a critical role in ensuring that food products meet established safety and quality standards before reaching consumers. This role works within food manufacturing, production, and processing sectors to monitor the quality of food items and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess an acute sense of detail, a comprehensive understanding of food safety protocols, and the ability to implement quality control measures effectively. As a Food Quality Controller, you will collaborate with other departments to address quality issues, manage documentation, and oversee food safety audits to maintain the highest level of quality in food products. This role is essential in upholding the reputation of the company and ensuring customer satisfaction and trust.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food production.
  • Conduct regular quality assessments and inspections on food products and materials.
  • Oversee and inspect the food production processes to maintain quality control standards.
  • Document findings from quality inspections and produce detailed reports for management.
  • Collaborate with production teams to develop and implement quality assurance standards.
  • Identify areas for quality improvements and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure that all equipment used in production meets cleanliness and operational standards.
  • Train staff on proper food safety protocols and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints related to food quality in a timely manner.
  • Stay updated with the latest food quality regulations and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure raw materials meet established food safety standards.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop strategies for quality management improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food quality control or assurance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP and GMP guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical information clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks.
