Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager plays a pivotal role in the overall success and operation of our retail store. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in managing all aspects of the store operations. Your role includes leading a team of employees to deliver excellent customer service, achieve sales goals, and ensure the store functions efficiently in the manager's absence. You will foster a positive environment that inspires and engages the team to deliver their best work. In addition to taking on a supportive leadership role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that operational standards and procedures are being adhered to consistently, which will help in achieving efficiency and profitability for the store.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily store operations and functions in the manager's absence.
  • Lead and motivate store team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Ensure the store aligns with company policies and brand standards.
  • Handle customer queries and ensure a stellar customer service experience.
  • Supervise and train store staff to maintain consistent workflow.
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock-taking and reordering processes.
  • Implement and monitor promotional activities to maximize sales.
  • Monitor store metrics and prepare sales reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the store.
  • Address and resolve employee conflicts or shop floor issues efficiently.
  • Facilitate effective communication between employees and store management.
  • Assist in budget planning and maintain costs within set limits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail or sales environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in employee management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficient in using POS systems and basic computer software.
