Job Description

A VFD PCB Drive Repair Technician plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) used in various industrial applications. These technicians are responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing PCB drives to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment. They work in industrial settings, service centers, or on-site, depending on the needs of their employer or clients. Their expertise in electronics and electrical systems, particularly concerning VFD technology, is essential to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent downtime. This job requires a strong understanding of VFD systems, PCB technology, an aptitude for problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose issues in VFDs using troubleshooting tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
  • Repair and replace faulty components on PCB boards within VFD systems accurately.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on VFD systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Calibrate and test VFD units post-repair to confirm proper functionality and safety compliance.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of repairs and maintenance activities for each project.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to develop repair strategies for complex issues.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding VFD drive operations.
  • Inspect VFD units regularly to anticipate and mitigate potential faults and failures.
  • Assess and document the condition of VFD drives to inform long-term maintenance planning.
  • Utilize proper safety protocols and regulations when servicing VFD and PCB equipment.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and technical knowledge in the field of VFD technology.
  • Assist in the training and mentorship of junior technicians and apprentices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is typically required; technical certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with VFDs and PCB repair.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, diagrams, and VFD technology principles.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and electronic testing equipment is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to stay updated with advancements in VFD drive technologies and repair techniques.
