Visiting Faculty Position in Physics – Spring 2027

The Department of Physics in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a visiting faculty position for Spring Semester 2027. This is a one-semester appointment only, commencing in January 2027.

The successful candidate will primarily teach preparatory and general physics courses offered by the Department of Physics. The teaching assignment may include introductory physics courses serving students from a broad range of majors. Experience teaching introductory physics to diverse student populations and experience with the American model of higher education are highly desirable.

Applicants are required to hold a PhD in Physics and demonstrate a strong record of effective university-level teaching. Candidates should have excellent communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to engage students and support their learning in introductory-level physics courses.

The Department of Physics at AUS offers a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a minor in Applied Physics and provides preparatory, general education and service physics courses to students across the university. Physics faculty also contribute to the interdisciplinary PhD program in Materials Science and Engineering.
